Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Engineer will have working knowledge of software and test design, the capability to run through tests, and the ability to analyze the results. This individual will manually test multiple products and systems by performing different types of testing including Functional, Integration, Regression and Acceptance Testing. This position works closely with product owners, business analysts, and technical staff and external system users, requiring a strong technical understanding and customer focus. All work of the Quality Assurance Engineer is conducted within regulatory guidelines and industry best practices.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Define test objectives, test plans, and execute test cases to ensure that software products meet design specifications and quality requirements.
  • Create test plans, acceptance criteria, test scripts, test cases and test data for functional, integration, regression, and 508 compliance testing.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of agile testing best practices and be part of a cross functional agile team working on a product to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in all the agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, sprint planning, backlog grooming, estimation, and retrospectives to continuously learn and understand the business area and the client’s requirements
  • Identify and report defects and problems that occurred during the test process.
  • Perform root cause analysis and identify corrective actions according to organization’s quality process.
  • Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and improvement of QA processes.
  • Define and update QA test plans for new functionality.
  • Effectively communicate problems with the user interface or usability of the system.
  • Work with a wide range of personnel including internal and external system users, information technology staff to document issues with design, performance, and functionality.
  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
  • Experience with test management software and team collaboration tools such as Jira, MS Teams, SharePoint, JAWS

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 6yr working experience as a Software QC/Tester
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience working with multiple testing methodologies and the software testing Lifecyle (STLC)
  • Working knowledge of all the phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the Agile Scrum framework
  • Knowledge of programming and automation testing tools.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (i.e. business owners, business analysts, developers, and project managers) to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Good organizational skills and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Sense of ownership and urgency

  • 508 compliance and JAWS exposure
  • Must be eligible to obtain or currently possess a U.S. Government clearance at the Public Trust Moderate (NACI) level or higher.
  • Must be a United States citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (LPR) with at least three (3) years consecutive residence in the United States as indicated on the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) LPR issued card.
